The State Government’s Victorian Forestry Plan positions plantation timber as central to local timber supply beyond 2030 and recognises the vitality of an already diverse range of engineered wood products that can be manufactured using plantation softwood timber as their source.
Our client wanted a short video to convey innovative practice across the entire plantation timber industry – from the seedling nursery to the plantation – and culminating with the production and use of the multitude of sawn timber and engineered wood products manufactured within Victoria.
Our first step was to familiarise ourselves with how plantation timber and the associated manufacturing industries operate so that we could zero in on the most innovative practices.
To keep on budget and produce a comprehensive overview, we shot at multiple regional locations whilst also sourcing and re-purposing some existing footage of manufacturing processes that were inaccessible to us due to COVID restrictions.
On September 30, 2022, this video production was part of the Victorian State Government’s launch of its $120m Gippsland Plantation Investment Program.
